Lenore Rodicio, executive vice-president and provost at Miami Dade College, was selected as Vice Chair of the Association of American Colleges and Universities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rodicio<\/span><\/a>, 46, assumed her duties on Jan. 22. She will serve for a year before being named chair of the committee.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI will use this post as a source to improve student success and retention at MDC, especially as it relates to academic pathways and general education outcomes,\u201d Rodicio said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The AACU<\/span><\/a> is a higher education committee that aims to promote education quality and diversity in public colleges and universities. Rodicio has served on the committee since 2016.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rodicio, who began working at the College in 2001 as a chemistry professor, has served as Provost of the College since 2016. She oversees MDC\u2019s internal operations such as the fiscal budget, facilities, academic curriculum, workforce development programs, among others.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in chemistry from Barry University in 1994 and later earned a doctor of philosophy in chemistry from Louisiana State University in 1999.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
