Daphnee Gilles, an English for Academic purposes professor at Wolfson Campus<\/span><\/a>, was selected as Miami Dade College\u2019s 2020 Leading Lady of the Year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The award recognizes women at Wolfson Campus that have impacted the lives of students in honor of Women\u2019s History Month, which runs through March.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gilles, who has worked at Miami Dade College since 2002, received the award during the Celebrating Women Ceremony on March 4.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am simply honored and humbled, as I know so many of my women colleagues who equally deserve this award,\u201d Gilles said. \u201cSimply, I was in shock when I was contacted.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She also serves as the lead faculty member of The Honors College at Wolfson Campus<\/span><\/a>, where she\u2019s worked for a decade.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gilles earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in business administration from the University of Florida and a master\u2019s degree in health services administration from Florida International University. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
