PHOTO COURTESY OF UNIVERSAL PICTURES<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0475290\/\"><i>Hail, Caesar! <\/i>revolves around a day in the life of Eddie Mannix,<\/a><\/span> a film studio executive known for his problem-solving abilities. He attempts to solve a pregnancy scandal, deal with gossip columnists and coaches a singing cowboy to lose his southern accent.<\/span><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As if that wasn\u2019t enough, Mannix must solve the kidnapping of Baird Whitlock (played by George Clooney). Whitlock\u2014the studio&#8217;s biggest star\u2014is taken by The Future, a group of communist screenwriters who demand $100,000 in ransom.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Directed by the Coen brothers, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hail, Caesar!<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has their classic blend of comedy and drama. Like many of their films, these award-winning directors\u2014who have won Academy Awards, Golden Globes and more\u2014created a movie that is shot beautifully and masterfully written.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The film also boasts some of the biggest names in the industry. They include <\/span><b>Josh Brolin<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (who plays the main character, Eddie Mannix), <\/span><b>George Clooney<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Channing Tatum<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Scarlett Johansson<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But just like in the film production industry, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hail, Caesar! <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0is all over the place.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It takes place in the early 1950s and pulls back the curtain to show viewers what it\u2019s like to be on set. The Coen brothers make the film incredibly hectic and depict how stressful it is to make movies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The movie guides us through various storylines and characters that all have some affiliation to Mannix and his studio.\u00a0 All of the weaving storylines make the film hard to follow in the beginning. However, once the film hits its stride, it flows seamlessly, and you begin to feel like\u00a0 you are in Hollywood\u2019s golden era.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although the movie is a love letter to Hollywood, it does not shy away from poking fun at the film industry. There are several moments when the Coens make fun at actors, writers, directors and others in Hollywood.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hail, Caesar! <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is well put together, but it is far from perfect. There are several storylines and characters that leave you confused. However, it is a comedy at heart and provides valuable insight into today\u2019s complicated, yet beloved entertainment industry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s a great comedy\/mystery movie with a lot of heart and passion.
