Kelly Kennedy-Everett, an English and literature professor at Hialeah Campus, has been selected to be part of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Program Council<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kennedy-Everett started as the Service Learning Representative on July 28. She is part of a 10-person committee that develops Honors projects and curriculum for PTK students.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI really love doing this,” Kennedy-Everett said. \u201cIt’s kind of what I do in my free time instead of watching television.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Kennedy-Everett has been a professor at Miami Dade College since January of 1993. She served as the North Campus PTK advisor for five years, before transferring to Hialeah Campus in 2012.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, the professor has also served as a service-learning faculty co-facilitator for the Institute for Civic Engagement and Democracy<\/span><\/a> at Hialeah Campus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kennedy-Everett earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in English from Florida International University, and a master\u2019s in teaching English to speakers of other languages from Nova Southeastern University. She also has a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Phoenix.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
