The Senator Carrie P. Meek Minority Women Scholarship is accepting applications until Aug. 28.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The scholarship\u2014a $1,000 prize\u2014is available to minority students at North Campus<\/span><\/a> who are single moms, and can demonstrate civic and community involvement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Students must complete an application, have at least a 2.5 GPA and submit a 250-word essay describing how they balance being a single mother with their community involvement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eligible applicants must be full-time MDC students and show financial need.<\/span><\/p>\n
