Kenyasha McDaniel Knight has been selected as the new director of student services at the Carrie P. Meek Entrepreneurial Education Center.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Knight, whose first day was July 20, will oversee the student services department and work with the North Campus advising and recruitment directors.<\/p>\n

She replaces Michael Mason, who retired last month after 21 years at the Meek Center.<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels great to return to somewhere near and dear to my heart,\u201d Knight said. \u201cMy passion is student services. [One] of my goals is to ensure that students receive the best experience possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Knight started her career at Miami Dade College as a student assistant in the North Campus President\u2019s Office in 2005 before becoming a full-time clerk two years later. In 2011, she was promoted to staff associate senior at the Meek Center.<\/p>\n

In 2016, she left MDC to be a dual enrollment academic advisor at Florida International University before returning to the Meek Center.<\/p>\n

Knight earned a bachelor\u2019s in English from FIU in 2009. In 2013, she earned a master\u2019s degree in English education from Nova Southeastern University and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in higher education leadership from FIU.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
