It will be showcased in April 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All children between the ages of 8-17 who live in Miami-Dade County are encouraged to participate. Submissions can be sent to <\/span><a href=\"mailto:sandra_lucia@icloud.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sandra_lucia@icloud.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cMy goal of the project is to highlight their voices, give them a platform to speak, and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">give them the microphone,\u201d Portal-Andreu said. \u201cIt is a postcard to our community <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">leaders so that they understand the concerns and the worries of the people that can\u2019t <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">necessarily make those changes.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Portal-Andreu has taught theatre at the New World School of the Arts for 17 years. She also serves as the director of Project Art, a non-profit organization that provides the youth an opportunity to express themselves creatively.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She earned an associate\u2019s degree in dance from NWSA in 2000. Two years later, Portal-Andreu graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor\u2019s degree in dance and a minor in communications.
