Alanka Brown has been selected as the new president at the Eduardo J. Padr\u00f3n Campus<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Brown, whose first day was Aug. 26, will offer administrative support for academic affairs, student services, learning resources, campus information technology, and campus administration.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI will work astutely with our campus teams to ensure that our students\u2019 academic and support needs are heard, understood, and addressed in a timely manner,\u201d Brown said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Most recently, Brown served as <\/span>vice president of academic and student affairs at the City Colleges of Chicago’s Wilbur Wright College.<\/span><\/p>\n

She previously served as associate vice president and dean of academic affairs at Frederick Community College in Maryland.<\/span> In 2012, Brown served as district director for academic readiness at Miami Dade College, where she designed early learning and pre-college initiatives for the Student Achievement Initiatives office until August 2014.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Brown earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in political science from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University<\/span><\/a> in 2002. She has three masters degrees\u2014one in international affairs\/international political economy from Florida State University, and two from Nova Southeastern University in public administration and management and marketing.<\/span><\/p>\n

She also has a doctorate degree in higher education administration from Nova. In addition, Brown has two graduate certificates\u2014one in law and policy education from Nova and one in project leadership from Cornell University.<\/span><\/p>\n
