Giovanni Del Fa, who served as Sports Editor for <\/span>The Reporter<\/span><\/i> during the 2017-18 school year, has landed a job as an associate producer for Telemundo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Del Fa, 22, started on Sept. 8. His duties include writing, editing, creating graphics, and teleprompting for different shows.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s a great opportunity. I’m really excited,\u201d Del Fa said. \u201cI’m just happy to be where everything happens, to really get to see how the shows are made and experience it firsthand.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

As sports editor for <\/span>The Reporter<\/i><\/a><\/strong><\/span>, Del Fa won first place from the Florida College System Publications Association in the Sports Column category in 2018. He covered the baseball, softball and volleyball teams.<\/span><\/p>\n

While at Miami Dade College, Del Fa also served as a member of <\/span>MDC InFocus<\/span><\/i>, a show produced by the Office of Communications that allows students to get on-air experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

After earning an associate\u2019s degree in mass communication from Kendall Campus in 2018, Del Fa transferred to the University of Florida.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In Gainesville, he was a reporter on the Spanish television station <\/span>Noticias WUFT<\/i><\/a><\/span><\/strong>, <\/span><\/i>a student-run TV station owned by UF. <\/span>He was also a writer for <\/span>ESPN Gainesville<\/span><\/i>, the student affiliate of ESPN at UF.<\/span><\/p>\n

Del Fa graduated from the University of Florida in August with a bachelor\u2019s degree in journalism.<\/span><\/p>\n
