Homestead Campus will host its fourth annual installment of <\/span>Coming Out in the Hispanic Community <\/span><\/i>on Oct. 12 from noon to 1 p.m. via <\/span>Zoom<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event will discuss gender roles, sexuality, the difference between gender and sex, and stigmas in the community.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c[The purpose] is to create an open dialogue, a conversation about LGBTQ+ in the Hispanic community because, oftentimes, a minority culture is not discussed,\u201d said Shannon Kennedy, who teaches psychology at Homestead Campus<\/span><\/a><\/strong>. \u201cAnd it’s very apt for this month because not only is it Hispanic Heritage Month, it’s also LGBT History Month.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
