Miami Dade College\u2019s Office of Sexual Violence Prevention<\/span><\/strong><\/a> is hosting <\/span>Empowerment The Advocate\u2019s Way<\/span><\/i> on Oct. 28 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. via <\/span>Cisco Webex<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a>. It\u2019s a workshop about how to support survivors of domestic violence.<\/span><\/p>\n

It<\/span> will be presented by Shena Kitt, a certified victims advocate who will describe what it\u2019s like to be a survivor and provide resources that victims of domestic violence can use.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSurvivors of domestic violence have had their power diminished or taken from them by an abusive partner,\u201d said Reisha Williams, the College\u2019s director of interpersonal violence prevention. \u201cPart of our work as a community is to increase people’s awareness of domestic violence.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
