{"id":23551,"date":"2020-11-17T13:00:14","date_gmt":"2020-11-17T18:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mdcthereporter.com\/?p=23551"},"modified":"2020-11-30T14:05:08","modified_gmt":"2020-11-30T19:05:08","slug":"buying-a-ps5-or-xbox-series-x-is-chaos-its-better-to-wait","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mdcthereporter.com\/staging\/8357\/buying-a-ps5-or-xbox-series-x-is-chaos-its-better-to-wait\/","title":{"rendered":"Buying A PS5 Or Xbox Series X Is Chaos, It\u2019s Better To Wait"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Highly coveted yet highly exclusive, the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X have taken the gaming community by storm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s not a surprise that the latest marvels in gaming technology have been all the rage lately.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both consoles have significant CPU upgrades from their predecessors, ray tracing, SSD\u2019s so you\u2019ll never have to sit for 15 minutes looking at a loading screen again, and 120fps support.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the Xbox Series X having been released on Nov.10 and the PlayStation 5 just two <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">days later, it\u2019s not like many have had the time to get their hands on one anyway.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not like it matters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both consoles might as well be on the FBI\u2019s most wanted list because whoever doesn\u2019t have one wants one, and whoever already has one, wants more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Their ballooning demand has led to crashes worldwide and astronomical resale values.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/paultassi\/2020\/11\/26\/bots-and-scalpers-are-making-finding-ps5-and-xbox-series-x-stock-a-nightmare\/?sh=546ab3c3238d\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Forbes<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, \u201cmany people couldn\u2019t even get the site to load, or get to their cart, or get to checkout without something going wrong along the way, or the PS5s being sold out by the time they thought they reached the end,\u201d when referring to Walmart.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But it\u2019s not just Walmart. It\u2019s GameStop, BestBuy, and Target. So many people try to order when a new shipment drops that it crashes the site.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, what do you do? Make a script that automatically refreshes, adds it to your cart, and fully checks it out in milliseconds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, bots are nothing new, and they have been in the resale business for a long time. But the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nationwide site crashing? That\u2019s new.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Personally, I\u2019ll be waiting for restocks next year. However, there are many who can\u2019t get these as gifts or even for themselves because of the resale epidemic going on.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you really want a console that badly, just sit tight and wait for new stock. Eventually, the release day bots will go away, just like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdcthereporter.com\/new-era-nintendo-begins\/\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Nintendo Switch<\/span><\/strong><\/a> ones did.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If I were you, I\u2019d wait for the PS5, not the Xbox Series X. Why? There\u2019s no questioning who won the console war between the PS4 and the Xbox One. The sales were so lopsided that the Nintendo Switch even outsold the Xbox One.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PS4 sold 114.01 million units, the Switch sold 69.25 million units and the Xbox One sold 48.55 million units, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vgchartz.com\/analysis\/platform_totals\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">VGChartz<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Needless to say, I think some of the hype from the last consoles have translated to the new generation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although I personally have a PC, I\u2019ll be looking into getting my hands on a PS5 for the same reason many others will too: for its looks and the exclusives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s no debate in specs because both consoles look like a mirror image of each other. So, when it\u2019s so neck and neck, I take a look at what exclusives each console brings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Xbox Series X will face the same problems its predecessors saw.
