The Idea Center will offer <\/span>CS50x Miami,<\/span><\/i> a 20-week computer science masterclass, from January 19 to June 3.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

CS50x Miami<\/span><\/i> will cover the basics of coding and programming and have a heavy focus on coding languages C and Python. The course is an adaptation of Harvard University\u2019s CS50 program, which serves as an introduction to computer science and programming.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Hands-on labs will take place either on Fridays from 7 to 9 p.m. or on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be useful not just for students on a tech team but also those who wish to communicate with designers and developers better and apply a technical background to a current job,\u201d said Urbano Baz, program coordinator and co-instructor of the course, as well as a <\/span>CS50x Miami<\/span><\/i> alumnus. \u201cI hope I can share the love I now have for computers with our students and get them just as excited.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Prospective students must <\/span>register<\/a><\/span><\/strong> for <\/span>CS50x Miami<\/span><\/i> by Jan. 18.<\/span><\/p>\n

Virtual information sessions for the program will be held Dec. 7 and Jan. 12 at noon via Webex. Students can register <\/span>here<\/a><\/span><\/strong> to receive a link.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
