The College\u2019s Museum of Art + Design is hosting a permanent exhibition, The Exile Experience: A Journey to Freedom, at the Freedom Tower, <\/span>600 Biscayne Blvd.<\/span> The pictorial account depicts the struggles that the exiled Cuban population had to endure during the rise of the island nation\u2019s communist president Fidel Castro. <\/span><\/p>\n

MOAD<\/span><\/a> is housed at MDC\u2019s Freedom Tower, which was the original Cuban refugee center known as the \u2018Ellis Island of the South,\u2019 that was operated by the U.S. government from 1962 to 1974. <\/span><\/p>\n

MOAD is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and every third Saturday 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
