Ed Calle, a full tenured professor of music business and production at Miami Dade College, won Best Instrumental Album for <\/span>Dr. Ed Calle Presents Mamblue,<\/span><\/i> during the 16th Annual Latin Grammy Awards.<\/span><\/p>\n

Calle is an internationally-acclaimed jazz performer, composer and arranger who was born in Caracas, Venezuela and immigrated to the U.S. in 1968. He studied music at Miami-Dade County public schools and began his music career at the age of 15.
\n<\/span>
\nHis album, <\/span>Dr. Calle Presents Mamblue<\/span><\/i>, was written as a tribute to the city of Miami to highlight the city\u2019s cultural history. The album is an Afro-Cuban jazz piece which features more than 115 influential jazz and studio musicians, as well as students, faculty, and staff. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
