Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Ismare Monreal to Miami Dade College\u2019s Board of Trustees.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Monreal, who will serve a four-year term, was sworn in at Tuesday\u2019s BOT meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m super excited to be back at Miami Dade in a different role,\u201d said Monreal, who earned an associate\u2019s degree from the College in 1992. \u201cMy hope is to help [MDC] move forward and give students their best chance at making a difference.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Monreal has served as the dean of students at Jonhson and Wales University-North Miami Campus since 2009 and became its vice president in 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n

She previously served as a senior legislative assistant in the Florida House of Representatives and has volunteered at the Archdiocese of Miami Marriage and Family Ministry, the United Way of Miami-Dade<\/a><\/span> and at A Safe Haven for Newborns.<\/span><\/p>\n

Monreal earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in English Literature from Florida International University in 1995 and a master\u2019s in business administration from the University of Phoenix in 2005.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
