The Idea Center at Miami Dade College is hosting <\/span>FOCUS: Mujeres Emprendedoras<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/a>, a 12-week program designed to help Venezuelan women in the early stages of their business ventures in South Florida.<\/span><\/p>\n

The program runs from Sep. 1 to Nov. 17. It will be taught in person every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Wolfson Campus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Applicants must reside in South Florida, be fluent in English and Spanish, be proficient in computing systems, and be willing to invest $500 in their ventures during the program.<\/span><\/p>\n

They must also have an idea for an active team member for an existing early-stage venture, have experience in their venture industry, and have monthly sales of less than $5,000.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the program, participants will test their prototypes with potential customers, find their best product-market fit and learn different methodologies\u2014such as design thinking and lean startup\u2014of creating a business.<\/span><\/p>\n
