When you\u2019re in high school, it feels like time stops. It’s as if everything that happens will last forever, like those good and bad moments have the power to freeze time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For me, it was a rollercoaster ride but what turned it into one of the best stages of my life is the adventures I experienced with my friends.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We would meet up during lunch and talk as if we didn\u2019t have any other responsibilities in the world, or we would hang out at the library and play card games.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My friends and I would walk and spend hours at our favorite fast food places, talking about different things. Sometimes we\u2019d laugh our butts off and other times we would speak about what we hoped for in our future.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The pandemic<\/span><\/a> gave us a glimpse into the reality that awaited us after high school. I don\u2019t believe any of us actually thought that it would come true.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The long and constant messages we would send each other gradually dissolved into quick and disinterested responses. Even when I made the effort to reach out, the responses I received oftentimes were \u201cI\u2019m just busy\u201d or \u201csorry I got to go.\u201d Some friends have even blocked each other on social media to avoid talking. There\u2019s literally one friend I haven\u2019t heard from since February.<\/span><\/p>\n

After graduating in 2020<\/span><\/a>, we have all moved on to different colleges and although we may see each other every once in a while, the bond isn\u2019t the same.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t blame anyone. Especially since all of us had to adapt to managing college and work at the same time. That isn\u2019t easy.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We had to prioritize our goals, careers and future.<\/span><\/p>\n

At times it hurts to think back about how strong our bond used to be and all of the memories we created but I love knowing that we always supported each other.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We may not be in constant communication, but I hope the best for every one of them. Whether it be in their career, work or college life. I will never forget how my friends made me feel when we were all together: the times we shared smiling, laughing and even crying together.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Even though high school is far into the past, I will always remember how endless it felt when I was with them and how I enjoyed every bit of it when they were by my side.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Everything in life serves as a blessing or a lesson, sometimes both. This was definitely a lesson.<\/span><\/p>\n

People come and go and that\u2019s okay. It\u2019s all part of growing up. It may not feel amazing when you lose a friend but the good thing is that you can always meet new people.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t be afraid to let go of your friends and memories. Just keep growing and glowing.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
