Homer Vallejo has been tabbed as the director of the New Student Center at Kendall Campus. He starts his new post on Aug. 30.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vallejo, 33, will oversee the recruitment, testing and international student services departments. He has served as <\/span>director of recruitment services<\/span><\/a><\/span> at North Campus for the past six months and prior to that served as a senior staff associate at North Campus since 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI hope to be an effective leader to the team and to promote a sense of growth and success for students and employees alike,\u201d Vallejo said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Before joining the College, Vallejo served four years in various capacities at Lindenwood University in St. Louis, Missouri, including as a wrestling coach and an undergraduate admissions counselor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Vallejo previously worked as an interventionist for Miami Dade County Public Schools\u2019 Migrant Program and as program coordinator for Mexican-American Council, a nonprofit organization that concentrates on college readiness for immigrant students.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2010, he graduated from the University of Miami with a bachelor\u2019s degree in sports administration and received his master\u2019s degree in education from Lindenwood University seven years later.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
