Homestead Campus student, Kennashka DeSilva, has been selected as a Future Female Leaders Scholarship Program<\/span><\/a> recipient.<\/span><\/p>\n

The program, offered by the Executive Women\u2019s Forum, strives to minimize the gender gap in cyber security and introduce female leaders to the Black Hat community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to the scholarship, DeSilva attended the Black Hat USA conference on Aug. 4-5 in Las Vegas where she was able to learn, network and collaborate with others from the InfoSec community.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was very excited that I would be able to attend a second [time] and be able to learn from other industry leaders at the conference,\u201d DeSilva said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the past seven years, the EWF has partnered with Black Hat to award 50 Black Hat conference passes to female university students who are passionate about information security.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
