When Kendall Campus students returned on-campus this fall, they found a remodeled spot to grab coffee or a quick bite in-between classes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Finn\u2019s Bistro<\/span>\u2014<\/span>the name was selected by students using a social media survey<\/span>\u2014<\/span>has replaced the former Koffee House.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gone is the drab outdoor furniture replaced with vibrant-colored teal, orange and blue tables that give the space, located at the center of the campus in building 100, a beach-like ambiance. The d\u00e9cor is accented with an orange oval-shaped sign that reads \u201cFinn\u2019s Bistro,\u201d a statue of Finn decked out in Miami Dade College gear and string lights that dangle from the trees.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The facade of the building is painted light blue with lime green columns highlighting the entrance.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI love coming by to grab some coffee on my way out of a class,\u201d said Brianna Villatorro, a sophomore studying psychology. \u201cIt\u2019s great having that afternoon pick-me-up right on campus.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The newly renovated outdoor area is decked out with chairs and tables made of Polywood a recyclable, durable, and weather-resistant material that is derived from recycled plastic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt has a good atmosphere and it\u2019s nice to meet friends here to study,\u201d said Sofia Sousa, an architecture student.<\/span><\/p>\n

Inside, the space will add a Starbucks<\/span><\/a> coffee station in the next few weeks. It currently offers Cuban coffee, cookies, brownies, potato chips, sodas, teas, pastelitos and empanadas. They also sell pizza, chicken tenders, paninis, fries and tuna sandwiches.<\/span><\/p>\n

A seating area inside the bistro offers socially-distanced seating with stools and circular tables for visitors to mingle. It is also just a few feet away from the campus’ Student Life area that sits next door.<\/span><\/p>\n

But nursing student Gabriella Farinacci prefers the scenic outdoor seating area.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s perfect,\u201d Farinacci said. \u201cWe can sit outside because we don\u2019t have to be in close contact with others.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Finn\u2019s Bistro is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
