A 20-year-old man said he was robbed at gunpoint at Wolfson Campus on Sept. 27, according to a City of Miami Police Department incident report.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

College and police officials have remained tight-lipped on whether the victim was a student or employee at the school.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAt this time lead detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident as well as the victim’s account of exactly what occurred,\u201d said City of Miami Police Public Information Officer Kiara Delva.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the incident report, the victim said an unknown male entered the third floor restroom in the 3000 building, pulled out a black handgun, pointed it at the victim and demanded he transfer $500 dollars to the suspect’s Cash App account.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After \u201cthe suspect confirmed the transaction he demanded another $500 be sent\u201d but the victim refused, the report says.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The suspect then left the scene and the incident was reported to the campus\u2019 public safety department at around 7 p.m. No injuries were reported.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In a crime alert sent by the College via email to students, faculty and staff the day after the incident was reported, the suspect is described as a 16 to 20-year-old Black male with a thin build. He was wearing a black shirt and black pants and is believed to be 5-feet-10 inches tall and 130 pounds.<\/span><\/p>\n

College officials reminded students, faculty and staff<\/span>\u2014in the Sept. 27 email\u2014<\/span>to walk in well-lit areas when possible and stay alert of their surroundings. They can also request a public safety escort to their vehicle by calling the Wolfson Campus\u2019 24-hour dispatch center at 305-237-3100.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Anyone with information concerning the incident is asked to call the <\/span>Miami Police Department<\/span><\/a><\/span> at 305-603-6640. Tips can also be given anonymously through the College\u2019s<\/span> silent witness tool<\/span><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
