Tanya Acevedo has been selected as the new Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at Miami Dade College. She started her new post on Sept. 13.<\/span><\/p>\n

Acevedo, 52, will ensure that the College remains a data-driven community by improving<\/span> application-based systems like the new learning management and customer relation management.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAll of these [systems] are meant to support the student\u2019s journey and faculty in making the process easier and more efficient,\u201d Acevedo said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most recently, Acevedo was the IT leader for the George Bush Intercontinental, William P. Hobby and Ellington airports located in Houston, Texas from July of 2017 through September of 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n

Acevedo earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Michigan State University in 1991. Three years later, she received her master\u2019s degree in business administration with a focus on information systems from Central Michigan University.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
