There aren\u2019t many noticeable changes in rhythms and instrumental backgrounds, but Swift\u2019s voice clearly has matured in the last decade.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the \u201cFrom the Vault\u201d tracks, Swift included songs she originally wrote for artists and cut from the original 2012 album, such as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Babe<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> first released by Sugarland and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Better Man<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by Little Big Town.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Better Man<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> captures the feeling of getting out of a toxic and abusive relationship and accepting the sorrow that follows after the breakup.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Babe<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Swift finds herself looking back on a failed relationship.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She also included some songs that were never released such as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nothing New<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> featuring Phoebe Bridgers and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I Bet You Think About Me<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with Chris Stapleton.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a diary entry <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/madthewoman\/status\/1423367882331807744?s=21\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">released<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to Swift&#8217;s fans during her <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lover<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> era, she said <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nothing New <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is \u201cabout being scared of aging and things changing and losing what you have.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I Bet You Think About Me<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Swift confronts one of her ex\u2019s after she moved on, but he hasn\u2019t. Swift puts the blame on her lover for leaving for superficial reasons, which included differences in background and upbringing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The subject of the song is most likely actor Jake Gyllenhaal, who Swift dated back in 2010. Swift sings, &#8220;You grew up in a silver spoon gated community. Glamorous, shiny, bright, Beverly Hills.&#8221; The <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Donnie Darko<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> actor grew up in Los Angeles and was born to a film producer and screenwriter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the music video, Swift portrays herself as her ex\u2019s vision of her on his wedding day. Her ex, who is impersonated by Miles Teller, keeps seeing Swift and the color red, an indication that he is still thinking about her, even at his own wedding.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the gem on <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Red (Taylor\u2019s Version) <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is the long-awaited 10-minute version of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All Too Well<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The extended version of the anthem is something that Swifties have been waiting for almost a decade after she revealed that the original lyrics had been cut to last less than five minutes to make the song radio friendly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many believe Swift took inspiration for the song from her relationship with Gyllenhaal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the song, Swift sings, &#8220;You said if we had been closer in age maybe it would have been fine and that made me want to die.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gyllenhaal and Swift began dating when she was 20 and he was 29.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Swift also references their age gap, by singing, &#8220;And I was never good at telling jokes but the punchline goes, &#8216;I&#8217;ll get older, but your lovers stay my age.'&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Swift also wrote and directed the short film for <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All Too Well (10 Minute Version)<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which features actress Sadie Sink and actor Dylan O\u2019Brien, who portrayed a couple in an unstable relationship.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The short film also showcases vivid imagery from the song. From the red scarf in the lyrics \u201cleft my scarf there at your sister\u2019s house,\u201d to the scene of the couple \u201cdancing \u2018round the kitchen in the refrigerator light.\u201d The actors also have a similar age gap like Gyllenhaal and Swift had during their relationship.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Red<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was more than just an album. It was the album that paved Taylor\u2019s way into pop music stardom and was a true portrayal of young heartbreak.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Red (Taylor\u2019s Version)<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is that and much more.
