The Idea Center<\/span><\/span><\/a> at Miami Dade College selected Alejandro Gonz\u00e1lez as its new executive director in December.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gonz\u00e1lez will work to ensure that the center serves as an entrepreneurial hub for students and faculty of all eight campuses and of every discipline.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are coming back strong from this pandemic to empower our students to develop an entrepreneur mindset,\u201d Gonz\u00e1lez said. \u201cIt\u2019s a hub where activities benefit students first and foremost.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Prior to coming to MDC, Gonz\u00e1lez worked as the director of public policy at the United Way of Broward County for more than a year. He has also served as a business development manager at <\/span>WhereBy.Us<\/span><\/a><\/span>,<\/span> development and operations manager at <\/span>14ymedio<\/span><\/a><\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0 visiting lecturer at the University of Miami, a residential fellow at Reynolds Journalism Institute and senior analyst at <\/span>The Montero Group<\/span><\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gonz\u00e1lez obtained his bachelor\u2019s of science degree in foreign service, international relations and affairs in 2012 from Georgetown University. In 2019, he received his master\u2019s degree in international development and public policy from the University of Chicago. He also completed a study abroad program in international relations and affairs at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in 2011<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
