The ban makes no exemption for victims of rape, incest and human trafficking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I can\u2019t help but fear for the future of women&#8217;s rights in America. Whether a person chooses to have an abortion or not, the choice should be handled on a case-by-case basis rather than by a male-dominated government.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Implementing abortion bans doesn\u2019t prevent abortions from occurring, it forces women to attempt illegal and unsafe abortions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unsafe abortions are the primary cause of maternal deaths. They can cause health problems like hemorrhaging, infections and damage to internal organs as a result of inserting harmful objects into the genital areas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/ohio-abortion-heartbeat-bill-pregnant-11-year-old-rape-victim-barred-abortion-after-new-ohio-abortion-bill-2019-05-13\/?ftag=CNM-00-10aab6a&amp;linkId=67347419\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">In 2019<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an 11-year-old girl in Ohio was impregnated after being abducted and raped multiple times. Under state law, the girl was not permitted to undergo an abortion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The law did not take into consideration the trauma the girl went through.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is equally monstrous to penalize women who don&#8217;t want to be mothers because a condom breaks during a hookup. Bodily autonomy is something that women shouldn\u2019t be begging for or getting punished for.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A woman should be able to undergo an abortion for a variety of reasons. Whether she is unable to financially support the child or does not want to have a child if someone has abused her.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Being pro-choice empowers others to make personal decisions based on their own religious or rational beliefs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This does not imply that individuals support abortion, rather, it means that everyone has the freedom to make their own healthcare decisions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the ideal of defending the rights of an unborn child, women&#8217;s bodies are routinely criminalized. This isn&#8217;t about the moral or ethical issues of aborting an unborn fetus. This is about having to give birth against your will.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moreover, undesired pregnancies result in unwanted children who may find themselves in even more difficult circumstances, such as being neglected and abused.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Abortion bans are essentially motivated by a desire to manipulate and control what women do with their bodies. Instead of passing laws that control what we do with our bodies, legislators should offer unlimited access to sexual education programs and make all birth control methods more accessible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mdcthereporter.com\/staging\/8357\/abortion-is-your-choice\/\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">Women deserve the right<\/span><\/a> to determine what they do with their bodies. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last month, Florida legislators voted to ban abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.
