The Miami Dade College baseball team is having open tryouts at 10 a.m. on June 25 at the Kendall Campus baseball field, 11011 S.W. 104 St.<\/span><\/p>\n

Candidates will undergo infield and outfield throwing drills, take batting practice, run the 60-yard dash and perform pitching and catching tests.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnybody who stands out to us, who belongs at this level and shows us that they can compete at this level is what we\u2019re looking for,\u201d said Sharks\u2019 Head Baseball Coach Adrian Morales.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last year, <\/span>Jorge Braceras<\/a><\/span> was one of the standouts at the tryouts. The five-foot-nine catcher, who had one at-bat at Lander University<\/span>\u2014<\/span>a Division II school in Greenwood, South Carolina<\/span>\u2014 during the 2020-21 season <\/span>made the MDC baseball team. He hit six home runs, drove in 29 RBI and boasted a .258 batting average this past season for the Sharks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe was one of the guys who tried out in the fall, made the team and he was a big contributor for us in the spring,\u201d Morales said.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
