The Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation is accepting<\/span><\/p>\n

applications until Jan. 13.<\/span><\/p>\n

Goldwater scholars can receive up to $7,500 for the academic year to cover tuition, fees and any other additional needs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Eligible students must be U.S. residents or citizens, be full-time sophomores or juniors, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and intend to pursue research in natural sciences, math or engineering.<\/span><\/p>\n

Interested students must submit a pre-application to Magda Castineyra, the interim dean of The Honors College, who serves as the Goldwater Representative at Miami Dade College.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The pre-application can be completed online at <\/span>https:\/\/bit.ly\/3SOGDsc<\/span><\/a><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If selected as a strong candidate by the Goldwater representative, students will complete a final application consisting of one questionnaire, a research essay, three letters of recommendation and college transcripts.<\/span><\/p>\n
