Dominican musician <\/span>Joan Soriano brings <\/span>old-school charm and modern sensibility to bachata during his South Florida debut at the MDC Live Arts\u2019 <\/span>Little Havana Social Club, a series of dance parties in a historic building featuring live bands, at the Koubek Center, 2705 S.W. Third St., on Jan. 29 at 8 p.m. <\/span><\/p>\n

Soriano, who performs with his family band, is known as the Dominican Republic\u2019s Duke of Bachata. His music is described as <\/span>evoking the countryside and sweeter times, with nimble runs and articulate phrases on his steel-string guitar that give an urban, contemporary edge to his music.<\/span><\/p>\n

There will be food trucks and exhibitions open to the public at the event. People can listen to the traditional Latin music while playing dominos with friends.<\/span><\/p>\n
