Valentine\u2019s Day is one of the busiest days of the year for restaurants, movie theaters, and many other businesses. However, if you forgot to make a reservation or you plan to stay in on this holiday of love, here are my top five Netflix films to watch on Valentine’s Day.<\/span><\/p>\n

1.Spanglish<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Spanglish<\/span><\/i> is a 2004 romantic, comedy, drama, about a mother and daughter\u2019s bond being challenged as they emigrate to the U.S. This film is perfect to watch with most people\u2019s very first Valentine, their mom. The film begins with Cristina (Shelbie Bruce) talking about her biggest inspiration, her mother Flor (Paz Vega<\/span><\/a>). Throughout the film, Flor sacrifices most of her time working to make her daughter, Cristina, happy as she grows into a young woman. After living in Mexico for most of their lives, they decide to emigrate to the U.S in hopes of finding better opportunities. Flor has a difficult time adapting to the new culture, especially when she finds employment as a housemaid in the Clasky\u2019s summer home in Malibu. As Cristina and Flor move into Clasky\u2019s house, they begin to experience the life of a broken American family. Written and directed by James L. Brooks, this film perfectly captures a mother-daughter relationship that stays strong no matter what obstacles they face. Although this film might not seem like a first option for most couples it is a great comedy and reminder that love starts at home.<\/span><\/p>\n

2.50 First Dates<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

50 First Dates<\/span><\/i> is a famous 2004 romantic comedy that can make you cry and laugh at the same time. The film is about a veterinarian named Henry Roth (Adam Sandler<\/span><\/a>) who lives in Hawaii. Afraid of commitment, Roth only has short-term relationships with tourists until he meets Lucy Whitmore (Drew Barrymore). Henry and Lucy enjoy each other\u2019s company and begin to feel a connection. However, the next day, Lucy does not recognize Henry because she suffers from short-term memory loss. Nevertheless, this does not stop Henry from pursuing her, and he continues to have Lucy fall in love with him every single day. Directed by Peter Segal, <\/span>50 First Dates<\/span><\/i> is a great film to watch with your significant other. The film shows that although life does have surprises, love can help you conquer all obstacles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tarzan<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Disney\u2019s 1999 film <\/span>Tarzan<\/span><\/i> is a fantastic animated movie that has taught generations that family does not always have to be connected by blood. <\/span>Tarzan<\/span><\/i> begins with a lovely family that is \u00a0suddenly stranded on a deserted land. All seems well until a jaguar takes the life of baby Tarzan\u2019s (Tony Goldwyn) parents. Although Tarzan is orphaned, a mother gorilla, Kala (Glenn Close), finds Tarzan and decides to raise him as her own. Throughout his life, Tarzan believed that the gorillas were his real family. One day, Tarzan rescues an expedition member named Jane Porter (Minnie Driver). She informs Tarzan that the gorillas can\u2019t be his family because he is a human. This realization causes a conflict for Tarzan, and he has to choose whether to stay with the gorillas or leave with the humans. For Disney fans, this can be an excellent film to watch with their significant other on the day of love.<\/span><\/p>\n

Remember Me<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Director Allen Coulter\u2019s film <\/span>Remember Me<\/span><\/i> is a great romantic drama about two lovers who conquer their past. Tyler (Robert Pattinson) faces the reality that his brother recently committed suicide, and that his parents are no longer together, while Ally (Emilie de Ravin) tries to live each day to the fullest since she witnessed her mother’s murder. Both characters meet due to a twist of fate and fall in love as they help each other cope with their demons. Although fate has brought them together, it also threatens to tear them apart. This film shows that life can be difficult to swallow sometimes, but you can find the bright side with the help of someone special. Although this film will have viewers smiling and feel everlasting love, there is an unpredictable twist that will have many in tears. This film is a testimony that love can conquer all.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hitch<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Many find it difficult to make the first move for true love. So they might hire Hitch (Will Smith) to give them a small push for a lifetime commitment. This 2005 film is a fantastic romantic comedy to watch on Valentine\u2019s day. It can remind couples about the first day they met and when they slowly begin to fall into each other\u2019s arms. The film begins with Hitch taking on a new client, Albert (Kevin James), who happens to be in love with a very important woman in New York City. Although at first it may seem impossible, Hitch perseveres to help Albert be with his true love. However, along the way Hitch meets Sara (Eva Mendes), a gossip columnist for an NYC tabloid. Sara and Hitch are complete opposites, and they go through some obstacles, but they find a solution to stay together. <\/span>Hitch <\/span><\/i>is a film that can certainly bring tears of laughter, and that is why it belongs on this list.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
