Do you ever feel the need to be part of something bigger than yourself?<\/span><\/p>\n

Then you should consider joining a club at Miami Dade College.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regardless of your major, the College offers students a wide variety of club options for different fields such as math, science, psychology and art.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the fall semester starts at MDC, new and returning students can browse the options on <\/span>SharkNet<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u2014an online platform that lists the clubs and organizations at all eight campuses.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There you can see a club\u2019s description, application process, current members and upcoming events. In addition, most clubs and organizations offer a contact you can reach out to for more information.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Aside from SharkNet, each campus has a <\/span>Student Life<\/span><\/span><\/a> department that oversees the clubs and Student Government Association at their respective campus which hosts events to promote campus engagement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With plenty of resources, there is no excuse as to remain uninvolved at MDC.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Personally, I\u2019ve pursued my interest in psychology and journalism by joining the <\/span>psychology club at West Campus<\/span><\/a><\/span> and <\/span>The Reporter<\/span><\/i>\u2014the student-run newspaper at MDC. I\u2019ve felt welcomed and heard by everyone I\u2019ve come across at the two organizations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My extracurricular involvement has been one of the key reasons on why I\u2019ve remained focused during my time at MDC. I\u2019ve met great people who share a common goal\u2014success.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At <\/span>The Reporter<\/span><\/i>, I\u2019ve also had the opportunity to give <\/span>tips on how to succeed academically<\/span><\/span><\/a> and shared my views on the <\/span>lackluster candidates in the Republican Party<\/span><\/a><\/span> for next year\u2019s presidential election.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I hope to continue immersing myself in the College by remaining active in the groups I am part of. By joining a club, you will take the first step to find your community at the College and create memories that will last a lifetime.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
