Chimene Garrison was appointed as the new executive director of the Carrie P. Meek Entrepreneurial Education Center in Liberty City on Aug. 3.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Garrison will oversee the center\u2019s enrollment and community efforts.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI look forward to building on and expanding the wonderful partnerships that exist with Miami Dade College and developing the center into a hub for educational advancement,\u201d Garrison said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Garrison started her career at North Campus in 1989, serving a one-year stint as a part-time financial aid clerk before becoming a full-time. In 1998, she was promoted to financial aid advisor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For the past 20 years, she served as director of financial aid services at North Campus.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Garrison earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in elementary education and teaching in 1997 and a master\u2019s degree in counselor education in 2003, both from St. Thomas University. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
