Former Lady Shark volleyball player <\/span>Daniela Tobar<\/span><\/a><\/span> has been selected as an assistant volleyball coach at Miami Dade College.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tobar will assist with strategizing game plans, overseeing practices and running defensive and passing drills.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you’re playing, you see the game in a certain way, but once you’re coaching, you get a whole different perspective,\u201d said Tobar, who served as a defensive specialist for the Lady Sharks during the 2019-2020 season. \u201cBeing able to help athletes grow as players is something that I love doing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

During Tobar\u2019s lone season at MDC, she recorded 50 receptions, 46 digs and four points.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 22-year-old graduated with an associate\u2019s degree in recreation from Kendall Campus in December of 2020 and obtained a bachelor\u2019s in sports management and recreation from Florida International University in August of 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tobar served as head coach of the women\u2019s junior varsity volleyball team at John A. Ferguson Senior High School during the 2021-2022 school year and the assistant coach at Downtown Doral Charter Upper School during the 2022-2023 school year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since December of 2020, she has been the head coach of the <\/span>305 Volleyball Club<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u2019s travel team. Tobar currently works in Name Image and Likeness sports marketing for the McRae Sports Group, creating sponsorships between athletes and companies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
