The Jazz At Wolfson Presents series will host the Wolfson Jazz Ensembles at the Wolfson Campus auditorium, 300 N.E. Second Ave, Room 1261, on Oct. 31 at 5:40 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n

It will feature the Horace Silver and Blue Note groups and the award-winning Hard Bop Jazz Ensemble.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Horace Silver group pays tribute to pianist and composer Horace Silver, whose Jazz quartet\u2014the Jazz Messengers\u2014pioneered the hard bop style with blues and gospel-oriented tunes during the 1950s and \u201860s.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Blue Note group honors Blue Notes Records, the jazz record label known for facilitating the diffusion of hard bop, post-bop and avant-garde jazz.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Hard Bop Jazz Ensemble base their sound on the extension of \u201cbebop\u201d and has performed in Switzerland, Italy and the Netherlands, receiving awards in composition and performance from <\/span>DownBea<\/span><\/a><\/span>t Magazine<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
