The Academy of American Poets, a non-profit organization based in New York City that promotes poetry, is accepting submissions for the annual Fred Shaw Poetry Contest until March 15.<\/span><\/p>\n

Celebrating its 52nd year, the contest seeks to honor Fred Shaw, a poetry lover who served as Kendall Campus\u2019 academic dean before passing away on Jan 2. 1972.<\/span><\/p>\n

Participants must submit their work to Anthony Moreno at <\/span>amoreno1@mdc.edu<\/span><\/span><\/a> and include their name, mailing address, student ID and phone number.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The first-place winner will receive $100, second-place will get $75 and third-place will receive $50.<\/span><\/p>\n
