The New World School of the Arts will present <\/span>Sweat<\/span><\/i>, an award-winning play by Lynn Nottage, at the Louise O. Gerrits Theater, <\/span>25 N.E. Second Street.<\/span><\/p>\n

Performances will be held from Feb. 23 to March 3 on Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.\u00a0 and Sundays at 2 p.m.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sweat<\/span><\/i> is the story of working-class people at a factory in Reading, Pennsylvania who are laid off following the re-industrialization of their town.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cStories of people like this deserve to be told,\u201d said James Randolph, a professor who is serving as director of the NWSA production. \u201cThis story is prototypical, meaning that people like this exist in every pocket of America.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

General admission to the event is $12 and $5 for seniors and students.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
