Miamibiance<\/span><\/span><\/i><\/a>, the literary arts magazine at Kendall Campus, and <\/span>AXIS<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/span>, the creative arts magazine at North Campus, were named finalists for the <\/span>Columbia Scholastic Press Association Crown Awards<\/span><\/a><\/span> in the college literary magazine category on\u00a0 Dec. 13.<\/span><\/p>\n

Winners will be announced at Columbia University\u2019s 100th Annual Spring Convention in New York on March 15.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Crown Awards recognize overall excellence in digital and print student publications. Finalists are awarded with a Gold Crown, which is the highest distinction, or a Silver Crown, for work produced during the 2022-2023 school year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since its inception in 1989, Miambaince has garnered four Silver Crowns for Volumes 25, 26, 30 and 31. It is currently nominated for Volume 33, whose theme surrounds food and the culture that surrounds it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTo be a finalist is a prize in and of itself,\u201d said Megan Carrion, <\/span>Miambiance<\/span><\/i>\u2019s Editor-in-Chief.<\/span><\/p>\n

AXIS<\/span><\/i> was founded in 2004 and was awarded a Silver Crown for Volume 17. It is currently nominated for Volume 20, whose theme centers on reminiscence and renewal.<\/span><\/p>\n
