The deadline to apply for the 2015-2016 graduation is March 21. Students can pick up a graduation form from the admissions and registration offices at their respective campuses.<\/span><\/p>\n

Five graduation ceremonies are set for April 30. Three will \u00a0be held at the James L. Knight Center<\/span><\/a>, 400 S.E. Second Ave., and two at the Kendall Campus gymnasium, 11011 S.W. 104 St., building 7000. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGraduation is sooner than I ever expected it to be. It\u2019s been a great two years,\u201d said North Campus Honors College student Natalie Telfeja, who is graduating on April 30. \u201cThe moment I have that diploma in my hands, I\u2019ll never forget all that MDC has provided me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

To apply for graduation, students should first verify their degree audit to check their academic standing depending on their declared major. Once the audit has reached more than 50% of the requirements needed, students should go to academic advisement and speak to an adviser at their campus.<\/span><\/p>\n

The adviser will then verify the academic standing, and depending on their current status, students can apply for graduation. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThanks to our new model, an influx of students graduating on time has increased,\u201d said Miguel Murphy, a senior adviser at North Campus. \u201cThe model encourages students to follow their degree audit closely and stay in touch with their academic adviser.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Several thousand people are expected to attend the Miami Dade College commencement ceremonies this spring. More than 14,000 students from eight campuses and several MDC outreach centers, walked at last year\u2019s graduation ceremonies. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After the commencement ceremony, students who complete the required steps toward graduation will receive their diploma four to eight weeks after grades have been posted.<\/span>
