First introduced in February 2000, <\/span>The Sims<\/span><\/i> is a life simulator game designed for gamers to create people and build their lives with different careers and lifestyles.<\/span><\/p>\n

The game developer Maxis announced at the<\/span> Behind The Sims Summit<\/span><\/i> in 2022 that it will soon release <\/span>The<\/span><\/i> Sims 5<\/span><\/i>, currently known as<\/span> Project Rene<\/span><\/i>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to <\/span>Electronic Arts<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/i><\/a> the new development is meant to \u201crepresent the team\u2019s renewed commitment for <\/span>The Sims<\/span><\/i>\u2019 bright future.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The new edition<\/span>\u00a0is expected to be released either this year or by 2025, and Maxis promised it will include new developments in game design and gameplay.<\/span><\/p>\n

This comes after years of complaints about the lack of quality for <\/span>The Sims 4<\/span><\/i>; gamers even say the older versions have more likeness to the real world since most items now require purchasing packs and bundles.<\/span><\/p>\n

YouTuber <\/span>SatchonSims <\/span><\/i>shared in his video \u201c<\/span>10 Resons Why The Sims 4 feels Boring<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u201d why the base game, which doesn\u2019t include purchased worlds, decor and lifestyles, is too boring.<\/span><\/p>\n

The video further elaborates that a big issue with the game was that it had too many mundane tasks and lacked the authenticity of their previous iterations. Best summarized as \u201ctoo much filler,\u201d how can Maxis improve upon <\/span>The Sims <\/span><\/i>world without abandoning its slice-of-life format?<\/span><\/p>\n

Like SatchonSims, users on platforms like <\/span>Discord<\/span><\/i> and<\/span> Reddit<\/span><\/i> expressed desires for more freedom with home building and storylines for their Sims, as well as more freedom with their Sims\u2019 career path.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI would really like to see a Sims economy,\u201d shared <\/span>Reddit user <\/span>chadwicksterelicious<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/span>. \u201cI want to be able to run my own business, like a restaurant, and [choose] how it looks.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The announcement<\/span> left wavering opinions on whether it is needed since there are four versions of the game already. However, most agree there are many aspects of the game<\/span>\u00a0that can be expanded on, that is, if Maxis is willing to experiment with their successful formula, rather than regurgitating the same game over and over again.<\/span><\/p>\n

Users<\/i> shouldn\u2019t have to download various mods, or game modifications created by other players, to make their experience more unique. That\u2019s what game sequels and updates are supposed to do.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although mods are fun to use, they shouldn\u2019t be the only way to make the game fun. It was bad enough that the game\u2019s monthly updates don\u2019t do much for the technical issues that follow after they accumulate.<\/span><\/p>\n

The success of a product is impossible without improvements and constructive criticism, whether it\u2019s from professional gamers or regular people.<\/span><\/p>\n
