Shiba Tashisha Gayle, a nursing student at Medical Campus, was selected as the Student Government Association Board of Trustees representative on May 28.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gayle, who will serve as SGA president for her campus during the 2024-25 school year, will represent students at Miami Dade College\u2019s eight campuses during Board of Trustees meetings.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI look forward to helping more with students\u2026because there\u2019s several concerns and questions that students have,\u201d Gayle said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Outside of the College, Gayle is a member of the <\/span>National Black Nurses Association<\/span><\/a><\/span> and has been working as a lead medical assistant at Mount Sinai Medical Center since 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 34-year-old, who aspires to become a nurse practitioner, graduated from Brown Mackie College\u2019s medical assistant program in 2010. Eleven years later, she attained an associate in arts in pre-nursing from MDC. Shiba is slated to complete an associate in science in nursing in December and will pursue a bachelor\u2019s degree in nursing at MDC.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
