The Miami Book Fair<\/span><\/a><\/span> has selected New World School of the Arts graphic design student Nicole Samper\u2019s artwork as the literary event\u2019s 2024 poster.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her piece features stacks of books that represent the buildings of Downtown Miami, a light blue sky with clouds and a walkway with vibrant colored silhouettes of people.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fair will take place Nov. 17 to 24 at Wolfson Campus, 300 N.E. Second Ave.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted [people] to feel welcomed, more than anything, and to know that it\u2019s for books lovers and people that want to immerse themselves in the community that Miami Book Fair has created,\u201d Samper said. \u201cI just wanted to showcase that this is an event that\u2019s fun [and] it\u2019s for everyone.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Samper started the project by creating a web diagram with images and concepts that stood out to her, then sketched them with a pencil. She drew the linework and scanned it on a digital app called <\/span>Adobe Fresco.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the future, the 21-year-old aspires to design packaging for cosmetics, healthy foods and clothing brands.<\/span><\/p>\n
