{"id":38309,"date":"2024-11-09T15:57:37","date_gmt":"2024-11-09T20:57:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mdcthereporter.com\/staging\/8357\/?p=38309"},"modified":"2024-11-12T15:11:55","modified_gmt":"2024-11-12T20:11:55","slug":"mdc-literary-arts-magazines-place-in-organizational-pinnacles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mdcthereporter.com\/staging\/8357\/mdc-literary-arts-magazines-place-in-organizational-pinnacles\/","title":{"rendered":"MDC Literary &#038; Arts Magazines Place In Organizational Pinnacles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kendall Campus\u2019 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miambiance<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and North Campus\u2019 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AXIS <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">earned high placements at the College Media Association\u2019s Pinnacle Award contest in the Two-Year Literary Magazine of the Year category.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mdc.edu\/miambiance\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miambiance<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">\u2019s<\/span> Volume 34 finished in second place and<\/span><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mdc.edu\/axis\/\"> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AXIS<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">\u2019s<\/span> Volume 21 was third for the Organizational Pinnacle Award.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Results were revealed during the Fall National College Media Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Nov. 1. Winners were selected based on work produced during the 2023-24 school year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI\u2019m just really proud that our hard work is being recognized because even though we didn&#8217;t get first place in everything, just the fact someone sat down and thought \u2018Wow, you guys did a really good job\u2019 is satisfying itself,\u201d said Megan Carrion, who served as editor-in-chief when the publication was submitted for judging.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In individual categories, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miambiance<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> placed first for Best Literary Magazine Spread, second for Best Literary Magazine Table of Contents and third for Best Magazine Cover.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AXIS <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">placed second in the Best Literary Magazine Spread category, third in the Best Literary Magazine and Best Literary Magazine Table of Contents categories and honorable mentions in the Best Literary Magazine Cover\/Nameplate and Best Literary Magazine Use of Theme categories.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAll of our hard work paid off to prove that year after year we\u2019re constantly coming into recognition for the Pinnacles. It just proves that teamwork makes the dreamwork,\u201d said Jeanna Chery, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AXIS<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019 lead designer during the 2023-24 school year. \u201cIt shows the effort and the drive that we continuously put in.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In other Miami Dade College news, <\/span><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mdc.edu\/wolfson\/english\/metromorphosis\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Metromorphosis<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the literary and arts magazine at Wolfson Campus, earned an honorable mention in the Best Literary Magazine category.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kendall Campus\u2019 Miambiance and North Campus\u2019 AXIS earned high placements at the College Media Association\u2019s Pinnacle Award contest in the Two-Year Literary Magazine of the Year category.\u00a0 Miambiance\u2019s Volume 34 finished in second place and AXIS\u2019s Volume 21 was third for the Organizational Pinnacle Award.
