The Museum of Art and Design, in collaboration with the <\/span>Celia Cruz Foundation<\/span><\/a>, is honoring the 100th anniversary of Cuban singer Celia Cruz\u2019s birth with the exhibition <\/span>Celia Cruz: Work.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

It will be on display through Feb. 15 at the Hialeah Campus Art Gallery, 1776 W. 49th St, Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n

Celia Cruz: Work <\/span><\/i>showcases photographs, videos, posters and wigs and gowns that belonged to the beloved singer, who passed away in 2003.<\/span><\/p>\n

Visitors can also watch a short and private documentary about Cruz\u2019s life.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe often focus on the stage persona, but not all of the sacrifice that goes into their performances and their music,\u201d said Amy Galpin, MOAD\u2019s executive director and chief curator. \u201cCelia is a part of our lives.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
