Trump Presidential Library.\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ruling, which was formally filed on Monday, was first verbally granted <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/news\/local\/article312506268.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">during a hearing on Oct. 14<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Ruiz sided with local historian Marvin Dunn\u2019s request to hold a new public BOT meeting to discuss the land transfer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dunn has been ordered to post a $150,000 bond in the next 10 days for the injunction to proceed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI am elated about the decision,\u201d Dunn said. He later added, \u201cIt means that now there will be a trial, there will be depositions, there will be public discovery, so we will find out exactly what happened in this great land giveaway.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miami Dade College President Madeline Pumariega replied to an email from <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Reporter <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">requesting comments about Ruiz\u2019s ruling, stating that she would provide a response, but she has yet to provide the paper a comment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The court ruled that the BOT did not give reasonable notice to the public about <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/news.mdc.edu\/pressrelease\/public-notice-notice-of-special-board-meeting-district-board-of-trustees-miami-dade-college-09302025\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a special meeting on Sept. 23<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at Hialeah Campus, where they unanimously voted to transfer a parking lot that sits next to the Freedom Tower to the State of Florida. The decision was voided by Ruiz.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe statement in the Notice concerning &#8216;possible real estate transactions&#8217; did not identify which real estate would be discussed or what transaction would be considered. Thus, the Notice did not apprise members of the public about the pendency of the matters that might affect their right,\u201d <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.miamidadeclerk.gov\/ocs\/pdfHandler?qs=B8ocNptbHe%2F%2FySybsnf02xIjZfR23x4QX3RtDSwKQqw%3D\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the court wrote in a docket entry on Nov. 3.\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.miamidadeclerk.gov\/ocs\/searchResults?qs=hck933%2FF9M%2Fk2Wm43ZJv2iqthyscMoJ6o7D5CjnDtPm1xtuVig%2FHgvqayoU36wRpnbLeuemm6ZxI2xNZF7rFgk%2FPeWy3RHpcIQNtlK8Dk9jgpJjmIZMNDO3sxRz7MQBDaEEAMgKKDC8tXywF8t7BxQOW0vU%2FW4PeahSjBgWUObcSTM5518dfoGw1z0i33BHB\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the docket<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the BOT has filed an appeal to a higher court to review Ruiz\u2019s ruling.
