Hubin, a board chairman of the NPA, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sharedparenting.org\/sharedparentingnews\/are-fathers-more-replaceable-than-mothers\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">published<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> an article on whether fathers are more replaceable than mothers and how court laws contribute to father absence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hubin concludes, \u201c&#8230;fathers and mothers are equally important to their children.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Intellectuals like Jordan B. Peterson and Edeh Samuel Chukwuemeka openly discuss the importance mothers and fathers play in a child\u2019s development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chukwuemeka, a Nigerian law student and founder of the blog <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bscholarly.com<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u00a0 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/bscholarly.com\/father-or-mother-who-is-more-important\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">believes<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> parents shape personality, perception and life decisions. He suggests that children often choose the mother over the father because they are typically more engaged in their everyday life which allows them to build a deeper connection.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Peterson, a Canadian psychologist with traditionalist views who has gained popularity on social platforms, argues for shared responsibility and against set gender roles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I have concluded that both are equally important.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Traditional values form the foundation of the family structure\u2013the mother as the graceful nurturer of the family and the father as the firm one, the provider and protector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But what happens when none of the parents fulfill their role?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I was raised by neither. My grandmother assumed both roles in my life. She fed me, gave me shelter, took me to church every Sunday and taught me to develop character.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019ve always believed that actions speak louder than words. My grandmother lived by that example.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite the many times I doubted my self-worth and longed for what other kids have, she made it clear I could succeed\u2014with or without the traditional family model.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Psalm 27:10<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up\u2014has always reminded me that my grandmother was heavenly sent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She could not replace my mother\u2019s love or guide me in a way a father might but her love was unconditional.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many people find a father or mother figure in a brother, a grandparent or even a loved one not tied by blood.
