Hector Noriega was selected as the new director of the Honors College at Wolfson Campus. He started the position on Dec. 1.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His responsibilities include advising honors students, coordinating their curriculum and leading academic programming and student recruitment for the program.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am particularly interested in ensuring that the Honors experience supports diverse, high-achieving students while preparing them for competitive transfer institutions, scholarships, and graduate study,\u201d Noriega said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 37-year-old replaces <\/span>Virginia Fuillerat<\/span><\/a>, who served as director of the Honors College at Wolfson Campus for 22 years before retiring in November.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Noriega previously worked at Miami Dade College in October of 2014 serving as a student services coordinator for <\/span>MDC Online<\/span><\/a>. Three years later he was promoted to Director of Student Services for the department.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In October of 2022, he took a position as director of Information Technology and Student Experience at the University of Miami where he stayed until December of 2024.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Noriega earned bachelor\u2019s degrees in public relations and psychology from Florida International University in 2012. He also has a master\u2019s degree in higher education administration from Southern New Hampshire University.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
