Former Florida governor, Jeb Bush, announced his candidacy for U.S. President on June 15 at the Kendall Campus gymnasium.<\/p>\n
The gym was crowded with people waving signs that read, \u201cJeb! 2016.\u201d People cheered and shouted as they anticipated the Republican candidate\u2019s speech.<\/p>\n
Bush\u2019s announcement speech started with a one-hour rally that incorporated a Spanish-language musical performance by the Chirino Sisters, a prayer and the singing of the National Anthem. The speech began with Bush<\/span><\/a> praising Miami Dade College.<\/p>\n \u201cI always feel welcome at Miami Dade College,\u201d Bush said. \u201cThis is a place that welcomes everyone with their hearts set on the future \u2013 a place where hope leads to achievement, and striving leads to success. For all of us, it is just the place to be in the campaign that begins today.\u201d
