{"id":7487,"date":"2011-03-04T17:11:35","date_gmt":"2011-03-04T22:11:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mdcthereporter.com\/?p=7487"},"modified":"2016-05-09T17:13:59","modified_gmt":"2016-05-09T21:13:59","slug":"reliving-the-glory-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mdcthereporter.com\/staging\/8357\/reliving-the-glory-days\/","title":{"rendered":"Reliving The Glory Days"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sex is a major driving force in life, and it is the primary driving force behind the new comedy<em>Hall Pass<\/em> starring Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The movie is the latest comedy from veteran filmmakers the Farrelly brother\u2019s, who brought us such comedic classics as <em>Dumb and Dumber, There\u2019s Something About Mary<\/em> and <em>Me, Myself &amp; Irene.<\/em> While the brothers started off strong with these smash hits, their latest efforts have been lackluster at best.<\/p>\n<p>Their newest production, <em>Hall Pass,<\/em> features a hard-to-believe premise where a couple a buddies manage to get a \u201chall pass\u201d or one week off from marriage with which they are expected to get all their sexual frustrations out.<\/p>\n<p>Their wives only agree to the pass expecting their husbands to come crawling back to them without touching a single woman, but it doesn\u2019t work out quite as expected.<br \/>\nThe film started out rather slow and featured rather stale jokes. It wasn\u2019t until almost mid-film that things actually started to get funny. Notably, a scene where the buddies try some pot brownies with the hopes that it will loosen them up and help them meet women. Boy, were they wrong.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, it was a decent film. I\u2019m not a big fan of Wilson, so he really wasn\u2019t able to disappoint as I wasn\u2019t expecting much from him anyway. Sudeikis on the other hand, was quite funny. Also, a cameo by Richard Jenkins added to the humor as we waited nearly the whole movie to learn who the mysterious Coakley was.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re looking for a mildly humorous escape from reality, <em>Hall Pass<\/em> may be right up your alley.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sex is a major driving force in life, and it is the primary driving force behind the new comedyHall Pass starring Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis.
