InterAmerican Campus will have a new cafeteria on Jan. 4.<\/p>\n
Previously, the campus had a small caf\u00e9. Dean of Administration Brian Stokes said the eatery that once served them was no longer appropriate for the 20,000 students that now attend.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe campus has grown,\u201d Stokes said. \u201cThe campus will no longer look or feel as congested as it has been in recent times.\u201d<\/p>\n
It will serve hot and cold meals.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis caf\u00e9 will be a tremendous benefit to the campus and our students,\u201d Stokes said. \u201cStudents, staff, and visitors have few eating options. None of these options were available directly on campus.\u201d<\/p>\n
InterAmerican Campus Student Government Association President Jos\u00e9 Salcedo said it will make grabbing a bite to eat before class easier.<\/p>\n
\u201c[Students] need more space to interact and this will definitely encourage them to stick around,\u201d Salcedo said.<\/p>\n
The seating capacity will allow for 60 people.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think that even though this campus is smaller, we deserve to have what other larger campuses have, including a place to eat and relax,\u201d said InterAmerican Student Life staff member Sandra Garcia.<\/p>\n
