{"id":8009,"date":"2010-10-18T13:33:52","date_gmt":"2010-10-18T17:33:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mdcthereporter.com\/?p=8009"},"modified":"2021-03-02T10:10:08","modified_gmt":"2021-03-02T15:10:08","slug":"north-campus-axis-magazine-takes-first","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mdcthereporter.com\/staging\/8357\/north-campus-axis-magazine-takes-first\/","title":{"rendered":"North Campus&#8217; Axis Magazine Takes First"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Axis<\/em>, the student magazine at the North Campus, has been awarded first place by the Community College Humanities Association in the Southern Division for its 2010 issue.<\/p>\n<p>The magazine consists of poems, short stories, artwork and photography.<\/p>\n<p>All submissions are created by the students of the North Campus, either from their own portfolios or from the creative writing course offered at the campus.<\/p>\n<p>In its seven years of circulation, the annual magazine has won numerous awards and received various honors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were thrilled,\u201d said Professor Elena Perez-Mirabal, <em>Axis<\/em>\u2019 co-adviser. \u201cIt was the first time we submitted to this contest.
